Our seniors were due to face Eglish in the final of the Jim Devlin cup on Saturday at Fr Peter Campbell Park Coalisland HOWEVER THAT HAS BEEN POSTPONED A youthful team beat Aghyaran last weekend in what were difficult conditions. The club met the St Patrick’s in 1981 final as they collected a second title in a row, our last final appearance was in 1991.
The juniors face Cookstown Fr Rocks III at O’Neill’s Healy Park on Friday at 7pm in the Begleys Sports division 3b opener. A reserve league opener is also pencilled in for Healy at the same time !. We would be delighted to see a good turn out to support this young team . The football squad wish to thank Chef James and the team who provided the food last weekend. The division one opener is pencilled in against Dungannon with a start date to be confirmed.
The senior hurlers beat Mac Nean last weekend in the Ulster junior league they will welcome Eire Og on Saturday at 6-30 as the campaign continues and the senior ladies opened their Canavans ACL campaign on Tuesday night against the Clarkes and despite missing a raft of experienced players they were unlucky to miss out on getting something from the game. The side have a derby trip to Cappagh next week in round two.
A big thank you to Waggy, Darren and the team at Total Workout for producing a great Junior Hyrox event last week that proved to be a great success and thanks to GDO Cain and the coaches who provided our Easter Camp.
Youth football, hurling and camogie continues , our fixtures are on social media but be advised fixtures and venues are subject to change. Congratulations to Emma Owens Duddy who was named player of the match in the Ulster U-16 camogie final at the weekend. We also congratulate Tori Mc Mullin who has been named as Captain of the new Tyrone Under 20s squad.
We had no winner of the clubs lotto jackpot last weekend. The £5k is still up for grabs this week. Last weeks numbers were 7-13-14-26-27 with four £50 winners John Kerr, Justin Mc Mahon, Pauline Mullarkey and Pauline Mullan . This weeks draw is tonight.
Ladies Pilates continue in the Healy Hall on Wednesday nights at 7pm while Cardiac screening for all players aged 14 up goes ahead on May 23rd. Registration is at Caife 32 on Saturday 25th April between 10am and 12pm. Priority will be given to youth players and appointments are first come first served.
We have a big weekend at the end of May for your diary. On Friday 29th we have our Club Omagh Golf day hosted by Dr Eamon and the members of Omagh Golf Club, entries and tee times available shortly while on Saturday we officially dedicate the stand at O’Neill’s Healy Park to the memory of Thady Turbett. This is an open invitation to club members , past players and gaels of the County and wider Country who are welcome to attend. The event will include a game, blessing, refreshments and a unique chat show with a host of goalkeeping royalty. The proceedings get underway at 5pm.
