16th October, 2011 – St. Enda’s lost a long serving stalwart on Sunday with the passing of Joe Keys (Snr)
Joe, a resident of Gardenville Avenue, died in the Altnagevlin Hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was 88.
A well known and highly respected character about the club, Joe and his family have been associated with St. Enda’s for many years, helping to maintain the clubrooms and facilities, and was an avid supporter of the various teams, including a once vibrant snooker scene.
Joe is survived by his wife Susan who was also a leading member of club’s very active “ladies committee” in the 80’s and 90’s, sons Terry, Gerry, Joe, Frank and Sean and daughter Mary.
Requiem Mass will be held in Christ the King Church, Strathroy, on Tuesday at 12noon.
