Youth must take centre stage this week as we wish our boys a.d girls Feile teams the very best of good luck this weekend on their travels to the South East. We take this opportunity to thank all the many sponsors and friends who have supported the teams. There was a massive turnout at O’Neill’s Healy Park to see them off on Friday with a very special guest in attendance. Mr Hurling himself Dessie Mc Clements who took the clubs first team to feile.
Youth teams have enjoyed some great success over the past week, the boys under 14s are though to the County championship final their first grade 1 final in several years. The minor girls beat Carrickmore to reach the grade 1 minor final, our U-16 camog’s reached the championship final while the U-16 hurlers are through to their grade 1 final too. Unfortunately the development U-16 hurlers came up short in their semi-final. The future is bright.
Our senior men had a comfortable win over Derrylaughin in the ACL on Friday while the juniors lost to table toppers Derrytresk. There’s a local derby at Ballinamullan on Friday night for senior and reserves with Tattyreagh the visitors on Sunday. The senior ladies headed to Pairc Comcille and beat An Charraig Mhor 7-7 tp 3-8 in the ACL.
Well done to Tyrone on Sunday and it was great to see Aidan and Conor return from injury, Conor’s belief. determination and commitment is an example to all our young players. We also congratulate Ronan who was part of the Fermanagh management and wish him well this weekend in the semi-final at HQ. Well done too to the Tyrone ladies who progressed to the quarter finals.
Two very special events went ahead in our Healy Hall over the weekend with charities benefiting from your support. A charity ceile proved a great success on Saturday night followed by a coffee morning on Sunday. A big well done to organisers of both events.
The reunion of our 65-75-85-95-05 teams will go ahead on Saturday 27th September in our members lounge. Its an open invite and team captains will be in touch with those successful teams that represented us so well. We want to encourage all members of these teams to come aalong for what will be a special night.
We extend the clubs sympathy to our esteemed committee member Amanda, former player Colin and the Keyes family on the sad passing of their much loved Mother Kate RIP. We also send sympathy to the Kerr family on the sad passing of Michael.
