NAOMH EANNA AN OMAIGH

Well done to Callum Daly who played a key role as Tyrone claimed back to back Ulster Under 20 titles. We had Conor O’Donnell and Cathal Mc Carron on the management team with Shane O’Neill the sides physio. An historic night for Tyrone and our clubmen.

It was a disappointing night on Monday for our seniors as they narrowly lost to Ardboe in the final of the Frank O’Neill cup, a competition that still evades us. Both teams served up a good game and it was certainly a worthwhile contest. Our focus now turns to the ACL opener against Dungannon. A word of thanks from Ardboe on our hospitality was well received.

Our juniors, a first junior team in over forty years for the club, opened their campaign on Friday night with a trip to Tattyreagh who edged the win in the end. There are a few more players to join the squad over the next fortnight and this Friday we host Urney, a side that proved massive opponents for our teams in the past. Throw in is 7-45 at O’Neill’s Healy Park.

On Friday night we honoured Joe Mulryan for his seven decades of service to our club, as player, coach, administrator and friend. A night of nostalgia and greats stories as former teammates, those coached and those who knew Joe well joined Joe on Stage. Thanks to our President Paddy Mc Mahon for his excellent reminisces about Joe.

Disappointment for our Tyrone seniors on Saturday while on Sunday our girls beat Fermanagh in the Ulster championship with Emer Mc Canny bagging a goal and Cara Mc Crossan tagging on 0-2, they play Down on Sunday.

We wish Aidan Gormley, Fionn Corry, Eunan Campbell, Malachi Leonard and their Tyrone Under 20 hurlers the very best of luck as they play in the all Ireland final this weekend. We also have hurlers with the under 15 and minor Tyrone squads, while our under 14 and minor girls are back in action, the minors play in the Ulster final.

Our youth teams continue in league and championship action this week. Our fixtures and results are available to your phone via our club and county app….it’s easy to download from your app store.

The clubs Feile side are in action at Clonoe on Sunday .

A special mention to our Under 14 boys development side who finished their league campaign unbeaten at the weekend. Well done to the players and the coaches involved with this youthful side.

Our annual Sunrise Walk goes ahead on May 10th with registration from 4am leaving Healy Hall at 4-15am with a light breakfast to follow.

Development Plan. Now with the plan launched and work going on across the board driven by Joe Mc Mahon, can you help with any aspect of our development work. Have a look at our document and have a think, there’s lots to do.
