Our senior hurling manager, Donal Lagan, has confirmed to the club committee that he will not be continuing in his role in 2022.
I wish to thank Donal for his dedication, time and commitment to hurling in the club over the last decade. The highlight was the pivotal role he played in senior hurling returning to our club.
Donal’s unwavering devotion to hurling, and camogie, in our club is unquestionable. His voluntary service to the club, in many other areas, had also been exceptional. He exemplifies the ultimate volunteer within our association and is one of life’s gentlemen.
I wish Donal all the best in his future endeavours and I have no doubt that we will all see him plenty around O’Neill’s Healy Park for many years.
I also pay tribute to his assistants Seamus Coyle and Padraig Groogan and thank them sincerely for their contribution to the senior hurling squad.
The club committee have delegated to a sub committee the task of recommending a replacement manager and that process has already commenced.
