Omagh v Letterkenny Gaels
Healy Park Omagh
Our senior hurlers kicked off the Donegal Hurling League on Friday evening in Healy Park with a comprehensive win over visiting Letterkenny Gaels.
The Omagh lads got off to a flying start with 3 unanswered points from play before the visitors made their mark on the game.
The trend was to continue with the injection of youth in the Omagh squad showing throughout the game.
Midfield duo of Ciaran Lagan and Mark Corry ensured pressure was firmly kept on the visitors, while Tom McClements, Cahir Turbett and Cormac Taggart made the migration to Senior Hurling with some excellent hurling making it very difficult for the Donegal men on the night.
Last years Young Player of the year Paul McKenaghan, pushed on from last years impressions and got his hat trick in a game which Omagh saw out comfortably.
Overall it was a great team performance with some fantastic scores throughout the game.
Omagh now face Aodh Ruagh away in Ballyshannon next Friday.
