Championship hopes dashed – Hopes of repeating the championship odyssey of 2014 were dashed last Sunday evening in Carrickmore when the seniors crashed out of the 2015 title race following defeat by Dromore at the quarter-final stage. The sparkle of twelve months never materialised with the St. Dympna’s avenging last year’s dramatic semi-final defeat at the same venue.
League campaign – The focus will now be on the concluding stages of the League and this Saturday the seniors and reserves will host Donaghmore in Healy Park in their third last game. Throw-in is 4.30pm (Res) and 6pm (Sen) and we ask everyone to get out and support the teams at this crucial stage.
Youth games – Youth action across various age groups continues with the U16 boys through to the championship semi-final following victory over Kildress last Saturday. The U16 girls also continued their unbeaten run in the league with a draw against Owen Roes while the U13 boys show great improvement in their games with a draw on Monday past and will play Pomeroy this evening (Thurs) at 6.30pm.
Hurling games – The U8, U10 and U12 hurlers have a blitz on Friday while the U13 hurlers will be taking part in an Ulster blitz on Saturday in Lurgan.
Camogie – Camogie training as usual on Friday evening in St. Patrick’s Park.
Tyrone minors – Good luck to club minor hurlers Ciaran Lagan and Liam Flanagan who are on the Tyrone panel to meet Mayo in the All-Ireland C final in Ballinamore this Saturday.
Cycle – Well done to the cyclists who completed the trip to Donegal last Saturday/Sunday and in doing so helped to raise funds for our youth teams. It is hoped to run another major cycling event next year.
Healy Park games – This Friday evening Healy Park will host two Intermediate Championship games at 7pm and 8.30pm. All available stewards to report for 5.30pm.
Well done Tiernan – Congratulations to youth player and boxer Tiernan Bradley on winning a Silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa.
