Senior Championship – With Tyrone now entering the “Back Door” to the Championship, it now means that St. Enda’s seniors will begin the defence of their Tyrone Senior Championship crown on Friday 5th June in Pomeroy at 8.15pm against Carrickmore. We are calling on you to be at the game in Pomeroy to support Larry, Barry and all the players. With Moortown and Edendork at 6.45pm, big crowds are expected so get down early to the Main stand, group together, make plenty of noise and get behind Omagh St. Enda’s.

Golf Classic – The second annual Club Omagh Golf Classic held on Friday past attracted over 160 golfers for another great day of activity. Many thanks to our Club Omagh Golf Classic sponsor Michael McElroy of Main Street and to the tournament organisers Paul O’Neill and Aaron McEnhill. See photos on our Photo Gallery.

Ball Wall opening – Another milestone was reached in the history of St. Enda’s on the 16th May when our newest development – the magnificant Ball Wall and 4G training pitch – was officially opened. Our Honorary President and PP Monsignor Donnelly presided at the official ribbon cutting ceremony and blessing watched by over 100 club members, players and supporters on a sunny Saturday morning. The St. Enda’s U12 footballers and hurlers, boys and girls, gave club members a demonstration of the training drills being used at the Ball Wall during the opening ceremony and Club Omagh members who have been instrumental in raising the necessary funds for the development got an opportunity to see at first hand the work that has been carried out at Healy Park over the past six months. Many thanks to all the Club Omagh members whose financial contribution has been key to the work at the club. If you would like to join Club Omagh and help to raising funds for our next development project – the refurbishment of our main hall, please do not hesitate to contact Club Omagh Chairman Seamus Hannigan 07540 069360 or any Club Member. Many thanks to those who attended and to John Wallace of Supervalu who sponsored refreshments for our guests.

Hard luck Tyrone – Commiserations to the Tyrone Team and the Omagh representatives, Barry Tierney, Justin and Joe McMahon, Conor Clarke and Ronan O’Neill.

U14 Hurlers – St. Enda’s U14 hurlers who are preparing for the visit of the St. Patrick’s club from the parish of Drangan and Cloneen in South Tipperary for the All-Ireland Féile na nGael from the 19th to 21st June, will take part in the Tyrone Féile finals this Saturday. Last year the team won the Tyrone Shield title. The panel for the All-Ireland Féile will be confirmed this week so it is essential that all players attend training. For further information contact Ciaran McDaid on 07729 378421.

U14 Football – The U14 boys produced a top class performance yesterday in the Grade1 Championship Quarter Final away to Rock. The high pressing strategy adopted by the team had Rock struggling to get out of their own half and at half time the boys led 6-3 to 1-4. The Omagh boys showed great composure and quality to come away with a resounding 10-9 to 2-6 victory. Celebrations were marred somewhat with the news that Tom Donaghy who had a magnificent game at centre half back has broken his collar bone following an accidental clash with one of his own players effectively ending his season. Get well soon Tom!

U14 Girls Football – Hard luck to the U14 girls who lost their Grade 2 championship quarter-final against Strabane on Tuesday night after extra time.

U12 Girls – Also well done to U12 girls who took part in an Ulster blitz last Saturday in Glabally.

Cycle – The popular St. Enda’s summer cycle is set to return in 2015 with a two-day trek from Omagh to Donegal town on the cards for September. The 90 mile journey will involve an overnight stop in Donegal town on Saturday 12th September, before returning to Omagh on Sunday 13th September via Pettigo. Just like all previous cycle events at St. Enda’s, it is open to cyclists of all abilities. Anyone wishing to take part in our weekly group cycle should meet at Fireagh Picnic area on Clanabogan Road this Sunday morning at 10.30am.

U16 football and hurling – Any boy wishing to play U16 football this season should contact Kenny Clarke on 07999074556 or Kevin Cunningham (07593 946481). Details of weekly youth coaching activities can be found on club Facebook page.

Lotto – This weeks lotto numbers are: 1, 11, 15, 18, and 30. There were 4 winners of £25 each and they were Susan McDermott, Aggie Mullan, Tony McGinn and S. Taggart.

Sympathy – The Club Executive Committee and members wish to extend their deepest sympathy to the Breen, Deveney and Sally families following the untimely death of Mrs Pauline Breen (nee Deveney) on the 17th May. Mrs Breen, formerly of 21 Crotty Road, Tattyreagh, was wife of Jim and mother of Roisin, Seamus, Blanaid and Ciara. She was sister of twin brother Peter Deveney, a long standing St. Enda’s member and former Irish language officer, Una, Theresa, Rosaleen and Deirdre, and aunt to our Executive Committee member Conor Sally. She was predeceased by her brother Pat and sister Fidelma. Funeral took place on Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Church with interment in St. Malachy’s Seskinore.
