Championship date – St. Enda’s seniors will begin the defence of their Tyrone Senior Championship crown on Friday 29th May in Pomeroy at 8.15pm. However should Tyrone lose their opening Ulster senior championship game against Donegal on Sunday (17/05/15) and enter the All-Ireland qualifiers, the club championship game against Carrickmore will be put back a week until Friday 5th June.
League defeats – The seniors and reserves had a tough weekend after two hard fought loses to Clonoe O’Rahillys, with both St. Enda’s teams under strength due to the game being “starred”. The reserves were beat on a score line of 0-8 to 3-13 and the seniors lost 1-9 to 2-15 after a strong second half from Clonoe.
U14 championship – Both U14 teams recorded two league victories over Killyclogher and Urney. The Devs won on an impressive score line of 7-9 to 3-3. The A’s had a three point victory on a score line of 3-11 to 3-8. This Saturday, the U14A team play Rock in the championship at 1pm.
Ball Wall opening – This Saturday, 16th May, will be another red letter day for St. Enda’s as the club officially opens its magnificent new Ball Wall and 4G training area at Healy Park. The wall, which has been under construction over the past few months and funded by the generous contributions of our Club Omagh members was put to the test this week by some of our youth football and hurling players and the verdict has been a unanimous thumbs up all round. Club members and players and their parents are invited to Saturday’s official opening ceremony and blessing at 11am where they can see our young footballers, hurlers and camogs enjoy another session of fun activities. A number of Club Omagh events throughout 2014 including the Black and White Fight Night and our Golf Classic also contributed significantly to funding the development.
Golf Classic – Our second annual Golf Classic will take place this Friday (15/05/15). Everyone is welcome (golfers & non-golfers) so please spread the word andwith limited tee time left please contact Paul O’Neill on 07772738462 to book your tee time.
September Cycle – The popular St. Enda’s summer cycle is set to return in 2015 with a two-day trek from Omagh to Donegal town on the cards for September. The 90 mile journey will involve an overnight stop in Donegal town on Saturday 12th September, before returning to Omagh on Sunday 13th September via Pettigo. Just like all previous cycle events at St. Enda’s, it is open to cyclists of all abilities. Anyone wishing to take part in our weekly group cycle should meet at Fireagh Picnic area on Clanabogan Road this Sunday morning at 10.30am.
U16 football – Any boy wishing to play U16 football this season should contact Kenny Clarke on 07999074556.
Youth activities – The U8 coaching on Saturday morning has been changed and will start at 10am and will finish at 11am on Saturday at St. Patrick’s Park. The U10 boys are taking part in a football blitz on Saturday while the U8, U10 and U12 hurlers are taking part in a blitz in Garvaghey on Friday evening. Camogie coaching also continues on Friday evening in St. Patrick’s Park.
