Ulster Club Championship quarter-final – Omagh St. Enda’s 2-8 Crossmaglen 1-9.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, Sunday 2nd November, 2014, will go down as yet another historic day for the club as our seniors took the scalp of Crossmaglen Rangers in an epic quarter-final game at Healy Park.
Tipped as outright favourites for the All-Ireland, the Armagh men were commanding in the first half and carved out a 1-8 to 1-2 lead at half-time with Omagh’s goal coming from Ronan O’Neill in the 7th minute.
However the second half belonged to the Omagh men as they stood their ground against the Armagh champions who subsequently had two players sent off.
Although Cross scored first after the break, a remarkable scoring blitz from St. Enda’s yielded 1-6 without reply with Barry Tierney scoring the second goal ten minutes from the end before superb points from Conan Grugan and Ronan O’Neill sealed a sensational victory.
