CONGRATULATIONS to the U14 hurlers who won the Shield section of the Tyrone U14 Feile on Saturday in Garvaghey.
The boys defeated a fancied Naomh Colm Cille team in the decider at sun-soaked Garvaghey to lift an historic title for the club, the first hurling title since 1995 when our minor team won a Tyrone minor championship title and the Ulster Shield title. The manager of the U14s is Ciaran McDaid who was also a member of the minor winning side of 19 years ago.
Well done to the boys for their commitment and hard work in recent weeks and the win now sets them up nicely for the All-Ireland Feile which will see the Barrow Rangers Club from Kilkenny come to town on the weekend of 20th-22nd June.
The team was as follows – Matthew McNamee, Paul Donnely, Matthew McClements, Tom McClements, Oisin McGuigan, Sean Laird, Cormac Taggart, Ben Groogan, Jordan O’Reilly, Fionnbharr Taggart, Caolan McCusker, Aidan Kelly, Jakub Krawczyk, Jamie Lewis, Adam Groogan, Ross Slevin, Christopher Mulcahey, Phelim Gallagher.
