Weekly news round-up – Thurs 29th May

Senior championship – All roads lead to Carrickmore this Saturday evening for the opening round of the senior championship where St. Enda’s take on Coalisland in the second game of a double bill of action. Throw-in is at 8pm and all St. Enda’s supporters are encouraged to get behind Laurence, Barry and the squad for this crucial encounter.

Minor championship – On Sunday the minor footballers are also in championship action when they travel to Galbally for a 3pm encounter with the home team. Please show your support for the playrs in this crucial game.

U14 championship – The U14 girls also played in the championship on Tuesday and had a great win over Clonoe while the  U14 footballers were in action on Wednesday but unfortunately lost, the A team going down to Errigal Ciaran, while the Devs lost by a point to Gael Naomh Padraig. The U14 hurlers travel to Garvaghey on Saturday for the Tyrone Feile commencing at 10am.

All-Ireland Feile – The U14 hurlers are currently preparing for the visit of Barrow Rangers of Kilkenny for the All-Ireland Feile na nGael from the 20th-22nd June. Club members are asked to assist with the preparation of this visit including the club BBQ on Sat 21st. Any individual or business who would like to sponsor players attire for this event should contact Ciaran McDaid (07729 378421), Dominic McClements (07725351643) or any club officer asap. The U14 hurlers will train this evening (Thurs) at 6.30pm in St. Patrick’s Park with a home game against Beragh on Monday.

Camogie – The U8 and U10 camogs travel to a blitz in Eglish on Saturday. Details of travel arrangements will be announced at coaching on Friday evening in St. Patrick’s Park at 6.15pm.

Blitz action – The U12 girls footballers have a blitz in Garvaghey this Sunday at 10.30am while the U10 boys also have a blitz, venue to be confirmed.

Youth coaching – Coaching for U8 footballers and hurlers as usual on Saturday morning in St. Patrick’s Park from 10am while U12 boys footballers will train in Healy Park on Friday from 6.15-7.45pm in preparation of their blitz on Tuesday next.

Golf Classic – Good luck to everyone taking part in the Club Omagh Golf Classic on Friday.

Sympathy – The club extends its sympathy to the Grugan and Donnelly families on their recent bereavement.
