Weekly news round-up – Thurs 15th May

Big Game Day – This Sunday, it will be all hands on deck at Healy Park for the big Ulster championship games between Tyrone and Down. Good luck to all the St. Enda’s players on the minor and senior teams. A small army of club volunteers will be on duty throughout the day carrying out a number of tasks. All members who are available must attend a special meeting in the clubrooms on Friday evening at 8pm sharp to finalise the allocation of duties. This includes everyone from car park attendants, shop staff, programme sellers and stewards. All personnel must be in the grounds from 11.30am on Sunday morning.

Senior league – Last week the seniors suffered their first league defeat of the season to Clonoe although the Reserves remain undefeated. There will be no action this weekend.

U14 games – On the youth front, the U14 boys A team have qualified for the quarter-finals of the league by virtue of a one point win over Dromore on Saturday. The Devs were very unlucky in their game against Clan na Gael and now await championship action. The U14 hurlers commence their league with a trip to Dungannon on Monday. The club have also been informed that they will be hosting a team from Kilkenny for the U14 Hurling Feile from the 20-22nd June. Training for all hurlers in this age group takes place on Thursday evening from 6.30pm in St. Patrick’s Park. The U14 girls were unlucky in their game against Glenelly on Monday.

U16 hurling – The U16 hurlers finished their season on Friday last with a courageous performance against Shamrocks in the championship and were unlucky to come away with a four points defeat.

U10 blitz – The U10 boys have a football blitz in Dromore this Saturday morning. All players should assemble at Brook Street for 9.45am to co-ordinate transport arrangements.

U8s – Football and hurling Coaching continues on Saturday morning in St. Patrick’s Park, 10am-11.30am

Ladies win – Senior ladies had a great win against Sperrin Og last weekend and play Loughmacrory on Friday in St. Patrick’s Park at 7pm.

Golf classic – The countdown is now on for the Golf Classic on the 30th May. A few places remain and anyone wishing to participate must contact Paul O’Neill 07772 738462 by this weekend.

One Direction – Anyone with One Direction draw tickets must return them to the clubrooms this evening (Thurs) by 8pm for the draw which takes place at 10pm.
