St. Enda’s 0-19 Moortown 2-7
St. Enda’s seniors secured their fourth win on the trot following a hard fought win over Moortown at Healy Park on Thursday evening.
It proved to be an incredible night for Ronan O’Neill who scored 13 points to send us to the top of the All County League Division One table.
With both teams reduced to 14 men in the first half, the lough shore men were always going to be a tough challenge and were a goal up within the first minute to stun the home team. They remained in front until the 20th minute when Conor O’Donnell levelled the match at 0-5 to 1-2, but from that point on the St. Enda’s men took control with scores from Ronan, Cathal McCarron and Ryan McBride helping us into a 0-9 to 1-3 half-time lead.
O’Neill’s accuracy from play and frees helped push the score out to 0-14 to 1-4 by the 43rd minute before Moortown scored their second goal to cut the deficit to four points.
Both teams traded scores with Moortown staying within striking distance until the final ten minutes when the scores stood at 0-16 to 2-6 in favour of the home side. However a further brace of points from Ronan and a final score from Conor Meyler ensured Omagh remained on top and well in control.
St. Enda’s scorers – Ronan O’Neill (0-13, seven from frees), Conor O’Donnell, Cathal McCarron, Rory McBride, Jason McAnulla, Barry Tierney, Conor Meyler (0-1 each).
