Well done to the St. Enda’s Seniors and Reserves who got their 2014 league campaign off to an assured start against newly promoted Eskra at Healy Park.
The Reserves got the afternoon off to a flying start when they had a big victory over Eskra who were making their debut in the senior grade. Leading 1-10 to 0-2 at the interval, they went on to record a 2-19 to 0-4 victory.
After a slow start, the St. Enda’s seniors took a grip on the game and racked up some fine scores in the final quarter of the first half to build a thirteen points lead at half time, 1-13 to 0-3 with the goal coming from Conor O’Donnell. Eskra, however, showed a much improved performance in the second half and made great work to cut in to the deficit, but the home team finished strongest with some great scores to pick up the first two points of the season. Full-time score St. Enda’s 1-20 Eskra 1.11
