CONGRATULATIONS to our Ceili Dancers and Ballad Group who won Ulster titles in tonight’s Gaelic Life Ulster Scór Sinsear final in Downpatrick. Commiserations to our Instrumental Group who were narrowly pipped by Portglenone.

It was a remarkable 15th Ulster title for the dancers who were defending the Ulster and All-Ireland titles which they won last year, while the Ballad group made up for last year’s provincial final loss to secure our 5th title – the last one being won 2008. Both teams will now go through to the All-Ireland final.

All three St. Enda’s teams produced remarkable performances in this evening’s decider and while it was disappointing that we were not able to secure a clean sweep of results, everyone should be incredibly proud of their achievements. The Instrumental team of Paul McGlinchey, John Woods, Gerry McCullagh, Mark McCrystall and Dermot O’Hagan proved to be great ambassadors for our club and no doubt we will see them back on the provincial stage next year.

For the dancers and ballad group, it’s now all systems go for the All-Ireland decider in Castlebar. The Dancers will be out to retain last year’s title and bring back an 11th national title while the ballad group will be hoping to secure a fourth All-Ireland for St. Enda’s, the previous titles being won in 1987, 1990 and 2008.

Well done everyone.

Rince Foirne/Céili Dancing – David Tierney, Paul Breen, Faelan Duffy, Damian Friel, Michelle Mullin, Leanne McCullagh, Amy McElhatton, Lauren Murphy
