Clonoe 0-13, St. Enda’s 0-6
St. Enda’s Reserves turned in a gritty performance today in the championship before losing to Clonoe 0-13 to 0-7.
After a slow start in which Clonoe dominated, they clawed their back way into contention in a highly competitive second quarter with points from Rory McBride and Michael Flanagan (0-2 each) cutting Clonoe’s lead to 0-7 to 0-4 by half time.
Clonoe, unfortunately, continued their domination in the second half but good scores from Conor Hannigan and Ryan McBride reduced the home side’s lead to two points by the 43rd minute (0-8 to 0-6). Try as they did, the St. Enda’s men couldn’t get the breakthrough goal they needed and it was the O’Rahillys who finished the game strongest with a flurry of late scores which probably gave them a somewhat flattering final scoreline.
