Weekly news round-up – Thursday 5th Sept, 2013

Championship games – Healy Park will host a series of championship games this weekend with Junior and Senior games this Friday from 7pm. All stewards should report to the clubrooms from 5.30pm. There is also a double bill of action in the Junior and Intermediate championship on Sunday from 6.45pm and again stewards should report for duty from 5.30pm. St. Enda’s open their senior championship campaign on Sunday 15th Sept when they play Clonoe in Dunmoyle.

Day at the Races – Tickets for the Day at the Races are now on sale from Eamon McMullan 079 792 404 40, Charlie O’Donnell 077 096 974 14 and Eugene McMahon 079 269 413 21 and places should be booked asap.

U13 sponsorship – The club extends its appreciation to Keith Dolan of Dolan’s Mace Supermarkets in Strathroy, Gortin Road and KIldress who has kindly sponsored a set of jersies for the U13s. The team begin their league campaign this evening (Thurs) with an away game to Errigal Ciaran.

Coaching – There will be no underage hurling coaching this evening (Thurs). The U10 footballers put up a great show in a blitz last Saturday in Carrickmore and this Saturday they travel to Strabane for a local tournament. Camogie coaching continues on Friday evening in St. Patrick’s Park for all age groups from 6.30pm while on Saturday U8 boys football and hurling coaching takes place in St. Patrick’s Park at 10am.

All-Ireland tickets – Ticket requests from paid up club members only for the All Ireland Football Finals on Sunday 22nd September should be texted to Paul Breen on 07803876555 by no later than 8pm on Wednesday 11th September. As tickets will be limited the Club cannot guarantee that all requests will be successful.

U16 football – The U16 boys ‘A’ team drew away at Dromore on Monday on a scoreline of 0-14 to 2-8. The boys now have three home games remaining (Owen Roes, Killyclogher & Galbally). Next game home to Owen Roes this evening (Thurs) in St. Patrick’s Park.Throw in 7pm. The ladies U16 team also had a great win in the league on Saturday against Donagmore.

Sympathy – The club Executive and members extend their deepest sympathy to the family of the late Gladys Martin who passed away last week. Gladys was wife of former long serving club secretary, the late Jackie Martin.

Lotto – Club Lotto numbers were 2, 3, 11, 19 and 30. There was no winner of the £5,000 Jackpot. Kieran Eannetta and Eileen Moore with four numbers, each wins £50.
