Weekly news round-up – Thurs 15th Aug, 2013

All County League – Seniors and Reserves are away to Augher this Saturday for their latest round of league games. The Reserves, who had a good win last Sunday over Killyclogher, play at 5pm while the seniors hope to bounce back from their one point defeat, play at 6.30pm.

Hurling Finals – Healy Park will host the Tyrone senior and junior hurling finals this Sunday at 1.30pm and 3.15pm. All available stewards should be present from 12.30pm.

Summer Camp – The Club’s Summer Camp commences on Monday. Sessions run from 10am to 2.30pm until Thursday.  A second and final registration evening will be held this Friday in the clubrooms between 8pm and 9pm. Registration forms can be collected from the following locations or downloaded from the club’s website – Domino’s and McKeown’s Shop, Derry Road; Centra and Mr Chipps, Brookmount Road; Spar, Tamlaght Road; Daly’s, Dromore Road.

Games – The U16 Devs are at home to Gortin next Wed with the A team away to Owen Roes. U12s are away to Errigal Ciaran next Monday at 7pm.

Youth coaching – U8 football and hurling coaching resumes this evening (Thurs) in St. Patrick’s Park, 6.30-8pm.

At the Races – Club Omagh is organising a fund-raising Day at the Races at Fairyhouse on Saturday 30th November. An exclusive suite has been reserved for the club at the racecourse and it is one of Fairyhouse’s premier National Hunt meetings of the year. Tickets are priced at £100 per person. Cycle – Well done to the cyclists who took part in the annual Mellon Country Hotel summer cycle and supported the BBQ. A special thank you to the Duddy family for organising. A set of keys was found recently in St. Patrick’s Pk. Please contact 07725351643.

Sympathy – The Committee and members wish to extend their deepest sympathy to Cub President Brendan McAleer on the death of his brother Tommy and to the McBrearty family, Gortmore Park, on the tragic death of Darren, brother of former club hurler, Paul. Last week’s Club Lotto numbers were 1, 3, 4,18 and 27. Four draw winners of £25 each were Jimmy McGirr, Peter Gormley, Mary McMulkin and Ann McMenamin.
