The inaugural Club Omagh golf classic was held at Omagh Golf Club last Friday with 42 teams taking part in the fund raising drive by the Omagh St. Enda’s GAA club.

The event which was sponsored by Main Street, Omagh, proved to be highly successful and competition was equally stiff with the top three teams all finishing on 103 points.

On countback, the overall prize was presented to the Western Properties team of Ciaran Teague, Peter Teague, Dan McNulty and Mark McBride who scored 55 points on the back nine.

In second place was Eddie Duffy, Jarlath O’Kane, Eamon O’Kane and Gerry Poyntz who scored 54 on the back nine while in third place was Aaron McEnhill, Darren Hyndman, Paul McGlone and Colm McGarvey who scored 53 on the back nine.

The winning ladies team was lead by Golf Club Lady Captain Marion Brannigan and included Christine McGuckin, Phil McKenna and Patricia Bogan. Winner of Longest Drive was Ryan Daly while Brendan McCartan won Nearest the Pin.

Funds from the event will go towards the development of youth facilities at Healy Park and the St. Enda’s club wishes to thank all the various sponsors who helped to make the event a success. Further photo graphs on our Photo Gallery page – link at the top of the page.
