Weekly news round-up – Thurs 7th May

All-Ireland champs – Congratulations to Conor Meyler, Ciaran McLaughlin and Tyrone U21s on a great win on Saturday in the U21 All-Ireland Final. Another brace of All-Ireland medals for St. Enda’s players. Well done all.

Hurling honours – Also congratulations to Des Maginness who was a member of the backroom staff.  Following on from the magnificent All-Ireland win for Conor and Ciaran, two more St. Enda’s players enjoyed success with Tyrone this week when Liam Flanagan and Ciaran Lagan won Ulster Minor Hurling League medals with Tyrone minor hurlers.

Minor championship – There was mixed results for our minor boys last week in the opening round of the Grade 1 and Grade 3 championships. In Derrylaughan we overcame a strong home side in Grade 1 on the score of 2-13 to 3-6 while in St. Patrick’s Park our Devs were very unlucky to fall to Castlederg by just two points 0-13 to 0-15.

Senior men – There was also mixed results for the Senior and Reserve men, as the reserves overcame Ardboe on a scoreline of  1-9 to 4-18, while the seniors suffered their first League defeat of the season on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-9. The Senior and Reserve men will now play Clonoe at home this Friday night at 6.45 and 8pm.

Golf Classic – Also keep Friday 15th May free for this year’s annual Club Omagh Golf Classic at Omagh Golf Club. Everyone is welcome (golfers & non-golfers) so please spread the word and get your tee times booked early to avoid disappointment. Contact Paul O’Neill on 07772738462 to book your tee time.

Cycle – The popular St. Enda’s  summer cycle is set to return in 2015 with a two-day trek from Omagh to Donegal town on the cards for September. The 90 mile journey will involve an overnight stop in Donegal town on Saturday 12th September, before returning to Omagh on Sunday 13th September via Pettigo. Just like all previous cycle events at St. Enda’s, it is open to cyclists of all abilities. Anyone wishing to take part in our weekly group cycle should meet at Fireagh Picnic area on Clanabogan Road this Sunday morning at 10.30am.

U16 Football – Any boy wishing to play U16 football this season should contact Kenny Clarke on 07999074556.

Camogie – Regular weekly coaching including the ‘Hurl with Me’ Programme for parents continues in St. Patrick’s Park on Friday from 6-7pm.

U12-U14 Hurling – Coaching for boys will switch to the Ball Wall at Healy Park on Thursday evening from 6-7pm.
