Time to celebrate for the St. Enda’s U21’s following their 0-10 to 0-6 win over Carrickmore

CONGRATULATIONS to the Omagh St. Enda’s U21’s who won the 2014 Tyrone Championship title with a 0-10 to 0-6 win over Carrickmore in Loughmacroy on Saturday. Following a tense contest in which the sides were level at 0-4 apiece at half-time, it was the Omagh boys who turned on the power in the second half despite playing into a strong wind and came away with the title with four points to spare.

It was a day of roller-coaster emotions with many of our U21s forming a guard of honour at the funeral of their late friend Enda Dolan in the morning and then having to prepare for a tough final against Carrickmore. With victory, it marks the end of a special few weeks in the Tyrone championships and a third adult football title has now been secured for the club in four weeks.

The result means that it’s proving to be a special year for St. Enda’s – Senior football champions, Reserve League winners, U21 football champions, Senior Ladies Intermediate football champions, U14 Hurling Feile winners, U13 football championship runners-up PLUS All-Ireland Senior Ballad winners, Ulster Senior Ceili Dance champions, Ulster Scór na nÓg Ballad winners as well as numerous Tyrone Scór titles.

St. Enda’s U21s – Niall McGinn, Darren McMenamin, Daniel Mullan, Riane Samir, Sean Canavan (c), Ciaran McLaughlin, Thomas Hannigan, Michael Flanagan, James Mullan, Rory McBride, Conor Meyler, Conor Golding, Cormac O’Neill, Joe Colton, Michael Gallagher. Subs – Niall McCrory, Peadar Doody, Cormac Hannigan, Nigel Brannigan, Diarmuid O’Doherty, Rion McKenna, Thomas Clarke, Ryan Masterson, Caolan Gillespie, Eamon Clarke.
