Weekly news round-up – Thurs 31st July

League action – Following two important league wins for the seniors and reserves over Carrickmore last Sunday, the teams have another crucial home game this Sunday against Ardboe. As the seniors prepare for their championship quarter final clash with Eglish on Sunday week (10th Aug) in Fintona, all club supporters are encouraged to come out in their numbers over these next few weekends. Throw-in on Sunday is 2.15pm and 3.45pm.

U16 boys and girls football – There is a busy schedule of youth activity this weekend with the boys U16 football teams in league action on Saturday with the A team away to Carrickmore at 11am while the Devs are at home to Derrytresk at 4pm. The Devs also play Brackaville next Wednesday. The U16 girls team commence their league campaign on Saturday with a home game against Aghaloo at 2pm.

Hurling blitz – Earlier in the day the U8, U10 and U12 hurlers are in blitz action in Garvaghey at 10am. Players leaving Brook Street at 9.15am sharp. For those not attending the blitz there will be coaching in St. Patrick’s Park from 10am. U8/10 coaching – For those not attending the blitz, there will be coaching in St. Patrick’s Pk from 10am to 11.30am.

U14 hurling – The U14 hurlers continue training in Healy Park this evening (Thurs) at 7pm and have a home league game on Monday against Naomh Colum Cille at 7.30pm. The boys were very unlucky to lose their league game against Shamrocks on Tuesday past.

U12 boys and girls football – U12 boys footballers have another Go Games blitz on Monday at home to Carrickmore. U12 girls have a blitz game in Aghaloo this evening (Thurs) at 7pm.

Girls football training – U8-U10 girls football training in St. Patrick’s Park on Wednesday’s 6-7pm. Newcomers welcome.

Camogie coaching – Camogie coaching for U8, U10 and U12 girls resumes next Friday (8th Aug).

RIP – Sympathy is extended to the Perkins family on the death of Fred, former player from the 1950s.
