Weekly news round-up

League action – The 2014 season gets down to serious business from this Sunday when the seniors (3.45pm) and reserves (2.15pm) begin competitive football with home games against Eskra. A good support from members would be appreciated by the players and management.

Minors – On Friday the minor footballers will play their second game in a week with the A team away to Galbally at 6.45pm. The minor ladies team secured a draw against Glenelly in a high scoring game on Monday and are due to play Errigal Ciaran on Monday in St. Patrick’s Park at 6.45pm.

U14s – The U14 boys footballers play in the Feile this Sat in Dromore (A team) and Fintona (Devs) with the A team at home to Carrickmore next Tues. The U14 girls team are away to Dromore this Thursday evening and home to St. Macartan’s on Tuesday at 6.45pm.

Hurling – The U16 hurlers travel to Dungannon on Monday night for their third league game. This game may be switched to Sunday so please check with team management.

Up for the Final – On the Scór scene, everyone is invited to the clubrooms tomorrow (Fri) at 8pm for an evening of music, dance and craic at the ‘Up for the Final’ night as part of their build-up to the All-Ireland Scór finals in Castlebar where both their Ceili Dance team and Ballad Group will bidding for honours. An array of Scór talent will be on show following by music from the Hootin’ Annies. Admission £8 with curry and dessert provided. Over 16 only.

Healy Park – Last Sunday was a busy day for the club with Skerries Harps playing a challenge game against our U14s. Thank you to everyone who supported this and helped out at the big game.

Youth training – Hurling coaching for U12/14 and U16 will commence in St. Patrick’s Park this evening (Thurs) from 6.30pm. Newcomers welcome. Camogie training in St. Patrick’s Park on Friday 6.15pm followed by U14 girls football at 7pm. U8 football and hurling coaching and Gaelic Start resumes this Sat at the CBS from 10am.

U10 blitz – U10 boys will attend a blitz in Trillick on Saturday, leaving Brook Street at 9.45am sharp.  Parents who are available to attend and help with transport arrangements are asked to get in touch with Barry McGinn 07985 414992or Mark Gormley 07775 920660.

Youth Meeting – A meeting of all youth coaches and any parent interested in helping with youth affairs for boys, girls, football, hurling or camogie, will be held in the clubrooms this Sunday evening at 8pm sharp.
