Scór Success – In what is shaping up to be one of the most successful seasons for Scór in the club, last weekend will be remembered for a long time with the Scór Sinsear teams claiming a remarkable five of the eight titles at the Tyrone finals in Killeeshil on Sunday afternoon. There were wins for our Ceili and Set Dancing teams, Instrumental Music team, Ballad group and Léiríu (formely Novelty) with a total of 32 Tyrone medals being awarded to all our contestants. Congratulations to everyone and also our other three groups who were placed second in their category. Full details on our website. Our thoughts also go out to Michelle Mullin who had to pull out of the finals due to the death of her father on Friday. The club extends sympathy to Michelle and her family.

All-Ireland – On Saturday our Scór na nÓg Ballad group gave a fantastic performance at the All-ireland final in Castlebar but sadly they were narrowly pipped at the post in a very tough competition which was won by Ferbane of Offaly. There was a great reception for the young group in the clubrooms on Sunday evening where there were joined by our senior Scór teams for an evening of celebration. See photo gallery for homecoming photos.

Youth action – Back on the playing field, the U14s and minor boys are in action on Saturday. The U14 A team are away to Trillick with the Devs at home to Gortin in St. Patrick’s Park. Both games at 1pm. Later at 4pm the Minor A team play Galbally in Healy Park while the Minor Devs play Brackaville in St. Patrick’s Park. The minor girls secured a good win over Dromore last weekend. Their next game is against Carrickmore on Monday evening at 7.30pm.

Underage training – Training for U12 boys and girls continues this evening (Thurs) at the CBS from 6-7pm, Camogie on Friday in the main hall at Healy Park from 6-7pm, with U14 girls at the CBS from 7-8pm. On Saturday, Gaelic Start (indoors) and boys U8 and U10 football and hurling runs from 10-11.30am at the CBS with U8 and U10 girls football following from 11.45-12.45pm.

St. Patrick’s Day – The club is planning its usual St. Patrick’s Day activities with youth players, coaches and parents invited to take part in the annual parade in the town. Afterwards, there will be a feast of activities back in the clubrooms with a family ceili in the afternoon and live traditional music in the evening. Food will be served throughout the day. Thre will be a chance to watch the MacRory Cup and All-Ireland Club finals on the big screen. More details next week.

Club Presentation night – The club’s annual presentation and dinner will take place in the Sperrin Restaurant on Friday 28th March. Tickets will be available from the weekend.
